Introduction
If you want to change more than the messaging in a pipeline, such as adding or removing steps, you don't have to start from scratch. You can duplicate an existing pipeline and customize the copy.
This is most common for franchise locations, where most pipelines come from the brand level. Duplicating keeps the pipeline's structure and filters in place, so you only change what you need.
Brand vs. Location Pipelines
On the Pipelines page, you can tell where each pipeline comes from:
Brand-Level Pipelines: Show your brand's icon. These are created by your brand and shared down to your location.
Location-Level Pipelines: Don't show the brand icon. These were created at your location.
If a brand pipeline is close to what you want but not quite right, duplicating it is the fastest way to make it your own.
Duplicating a Pipeline
To duplicate a pipeline:
Click the three dots on the pipeline you want to copy.
Select Duplicate.
Name the new pipeline. Your location name is added to it automatically.
Confirm to duplicate the pipeline.
Your new pipeline will appear with the same steps and filters as the original, ready for you to customize.
Editing Steps & Actions
Once you've duplicated a pipeline, you can adjust its steps to fit your outreach.
Delete a step: Remove any day you don't want in the journey.
Add a step: Click Add Step, then Add Action. Choose the day you want it to run, such as Day 19.
Choose the action type: Select SMS, Email or a Staff Task, such as a staff call. For emails, you can also add a template.
Add an action to an existing day: Click Add Action within that day. For example, on Day 9 you could send an SMS, then an email one hour later.
Important: When you add a step in the middle of a pipeline, an alert appears and every later step is pushed back by that number of days. For example, inserting a new step on Day 2 moves the step that was on Day 2 to Day 3.
Important: New steps start blank. Add your messaging to each new step so Hailee has the right message to reference.
Customizing Filters
When you duplicate a pipeline, its filters are duplicated too. If the original pipeline already targets the right clients, you don't need to rebuild those conditions.
You can also duplicate a pipeline specifically to change its filters. In the pipeline's settings, you can:
Add conditions: For example, Membership Started in the Last 7 Days.
Delete conditions: For example, remove Client Added in the Last 30 Days if it doesn't fit your goal.
Preview who matches: See which clients would fall into the pipeline based on the filters you've selected. Click any client's name to open their profile.
Important: Always save your settings after making changes.
Pro Tip: Duplicate when you like most of an existing pipeline. If you like the steps but not the filters, or the filters but not the steps, duplicating lets you change just that part without starting from scratch.
